WHAT IS A PUNKLING?
A “Punkling” is one side fuzz and one side fun. They are the perfect little buddies for all ages to hug, snuggle, and bring on adventures. Whether it’s cross country road trips or building a pillow fort in the living room, Punklings are ready to keep you company along the way. And the happiest surprise? Every Punkling has a pocket! Souvenirs from adventures- big or small- can be kept in a Punkling pocket. Clementine will hold onto your secrets, your treasures, and give you something to hug the whole time.
WHY “PUNKLING”?
When I was little, my dad’s nickname for me was “Punkling”- maybe it started out as “pumpkin” but morphed into something more unique to us, more endearing because of its originality. (I’m 34 and my dad still calls me “Punkling”…) Just like a loving nickname, these RBB Punklings are one of a kind and are made to last. To keep the connection of lovable nicknames, each of the original Punklings are named after names that were given to me/that I gave to someone I love!
how are they made?
Every Punkling is hand sewn with love and care from a completely unique-to-RBB pattern with original illustrated minky fabric. There are no little plastic pieces (eyes, buttons, noses…) since all of the happy little faces are part of the soft, fuzzy fabric. The white fuzzy backing can be turned inside out to reveal the Punkling’s colorful pocket, made out of colorful cotton fabric. Filled with polyester stuffing, Punklings are washable, truly making them ready for all adventures- even the messy ones! We all know that life can get messy sometimes, but we promise- Punklings are ready for it!
What are the punkling names & Why?
Scoot - My mom’s initials were “SC”, and my husband and I call our dog, Milo, “a little scoot” when he’s being super adorable.
Peanut - My grandfather started calling me “Peanut” when I was little and it stuck- which eventually became pretty ironic when I grew up to be 5’9”.
Mitty - My mom called me “Little Bitty” when I was a baby, and once I started learning to talk, I always referred to us as “Mommy and Mitty” and she continued to call me Mitty, pretty much just as often as she used my actual name.
Clementine - My grandma used to sing “Oh My Darling, Clementine” to me when I was young and the song and the nickname always remind me of her.
Wubby - When he was barely a year old, I was teaching my nephew how to say “I love you” and for a while, the closest he got was “Wubby”- which became our precious code for for “I love you”.
